April 13th Annual Benefit in Portland

Blue Mountain Biodiversity Project has been protecting eastern Oregon forests for 27 years. Please join us for this annual benefit to support our ecological defense work!

Its time to gather, hear some exquisite music, and support BMBP as we prepare for field checking season. Come learn about our work in Leaven Community’s beautiful chapel, eat some food, and hear updates from the field!

The benefit is Friday, April 13th from 7pm to 10pm at the Leaven Community Center (5431 NE 20nd Ave, Portland). $10-20 suggested donation. All ages, wheelchair accessible.

Attendance at this event will help Blue Mountains Biodiversity Project fight destructive timber sales on four National Forests in Eastern Oregon. Funds raised by the benefit will help to support this year’s field season. Every summer, BMBP’s small staff and dozens of volunteers field survey thousands of acres of proposed timber sales. The information they collect in the field is used as evidence in public comments, and in potential negotiations and litigation.

Local artists from Na Rósaí and Dolphin Midwives! The evening will feature a powerhouse of local traditional and experimental folk artists. Two members from the traditional folk quartet Na Rósaí will play traditional Irish, Appalachian, Scottish, Breton, and other Celtic folk music. Dolphin Midwives will grace the chapel with her transcendental harp-based soundscapes.

Raffle prizes will include gift cards, jewelry, books, and artwork. Karen Coulter, the Director of Blue Mountains Biodiversity Project, will also give a presentation on BMBP’s forest defense work in Eastern Oregon. Snacks will be provided.

Thank you for your support!
